After pressing the grapes, the majority of the juice has been released. But at the bottom of the press remain the crushed berries which still contain a small amount of pulp and juice: that is the grape pomace. Gewurztraminer is a very fragrant grape variety and its skin is rich in aromas. The fresh grape pomace is fermented in tanks for 6 to 8 weeks to transform the remaining sugar into alcohol. It is then distilled to create a white alcohol rich in flavor.
This eau-de-vie has a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) since 2009. The Marc de Gewurztraminer brandy is very aromatic and powerful. Remarkably long on the palate.
