This great terroir is located at the heart of a geological fault zone, where hard Jurassic limestone meets Lias marls.
These formations have created a red clay-limestone soil rich in calcareous rocks. The south exposure, the distance from the Vosges mountain range, and the steep slope create a warm, temperate microclimate ideal for over-ripening.
With a golden yellow color and silvery reflections, this Riesling Grand Cru Altenberg de Bergheim, crystalline in the glass, shows a mineral side combining with complex citrus notes. A clean attack on the palate, a straight and refreshing structure with yellow fruit notes and a nice length.
